Safely equipment is all about making edge cases safer. The higher end ones are pushing $2500/each (retail), a more basic headlamp with just an LED DRL are easily $1k/each, a basic halogen lamp is ~$200. The Volvo "thor's hammer" headlights are $2200 a piece and they didn't even have matrix LEDs.
